Brown Bred Productions was co-founded by BAFTA award winning comedian/actor Kayvan Novak (Fonejacker, Facejacker C4, What We Do In The Shadows FX) and Creative Director / co-MD Joe Varley (BAFTA winning Murder in Successville BBC, Drunk History UK CC, I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse BBC3, Little Prankers BBC3 & ITV’s global hit Dinner Date format creator). Having worked together on and off for nearly 10 years (first working together on BAFTA winning Fonejacker) the two have steadily been creating, developing and producing television programmes for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Comedy Central – with Joe previously heading up both Tiger Aspect and Zeppotron’s development teams respectively.

The two decided to set up Brown Bred in order to house, nurture and develop current ideas, along with ideas they have been developing over a number of years. With Kayvan and Joe’s collective experience they are able to effectively exploit the worlds of both scripted and unscripted television, through open and hidden camera filming, whilst specialising in creating comedy, factual entertainment and entertainment formats.

They want to make programmes that explore human interaction: relationships, tolerance, unifying moments we all relate to and cultural diversity but always with that keen sense of warmth, humour and wit that has been so present and effective in their previous body of work.
